Fashion X Austin

Fashion X Austin has always been one of my favorite events…

and this year was a joy to be a part!

I was so honored when Matt Swinney, founder of Fashion X, and also my friend.

I chose Relay for Life as the charity to benefit,

as it was the one my husband and I…and the entire Johnson & Johnson Medical team supported.

Below are images from the Fashion X Website from the event!

These are outfits from my closet, inspired by my Glamping to Gala lifestyle.

As many of you know…my husband and I have an airstream, and we escape during the hot summer months of Texas to somewhere new and adventurous.  I’m pretty sure I’m the first Fashion X Style Setter to showcase a fishing outfit…but I like to think we can bring glamour into any situation. Toss on a fun hat, high heel boots and striped socks to make the functional fishing gear…blingy!!! Shop the look here!

Biking shorts are trendy…so I like to throw them into my running gear ensemble.  Because when you look good…you feel good …which makes me confident to run a half marathon…even at the age of 50.  So can you!  I believe in you. I’m also a big fan of the running belts which have room for protective chapstick suncreeen, and my 2 running bottles of water and electrolytes. Shop here for this comfy running gear.

I’m a huge fan of jumpsuits for the weekends!  I believe it’s an outfit which can take you to brunch all the way to dinner and fun to the end of the night.  I like to pair with comfy shoes like low heeled boots or comfy, stylish tennis shoes so I can walk for miles and not get blisters or sore feet. I also my Tory Burch backpack so I can scooter around downtown without carrying a purse.  I love it!

This is my favorite Travel Outfit.  It’s a perfect swimsuit cover-up which can also be worn as a comfy dress for a night out.  You can dress it up with heels and a fancy jewelry or throw on a pair of flip flops and a straw purse and go to the beach.  And my favorite is the wide brim straw hat to keep my face out of the sun. Stylish and safe! Oh…and the sunglasses…$20 from Amazon.

Daytime Galas are all about a pop of color and fun.  This particular outfit I wore for the Center for Child Protection Play Bingo!  You can’t tell…but there’s a flamingo on the head piece.  My friend Amy Beard, who is also the board…made this…isn’t this clever? My dress is my all time favorite designer, La Petite Robe di Chaira Boni.  Her clothing line fits like a glove…keeping you feeling confident all day long.  These sunglasses are also another Amazon special…for $8!!!

As you can tell from the rest of my fashion show lineup, I am a huge fan of wearing black.  Although, when it comes to galas…I love to use Rent the Runway and wear color and bling.  This beautiful Antonio Berardi dress fits tight and snug and has a floor length zipper down the back.  It’s stunning and will make you feel like a princess! My favorite accessories when I do a pop of color is to stick to simple silver accessories so the dress pops.  I love to go to Saks Off Fifth and buy pieces of jewelry and plan an entire outfit around it!
