Yelapa, Mexico

We love to find places which feel undiscovered,

and Yelapa is one of those places.

They just recently got electricity and phones,

and it’s a place where life slows down.

Artists have discovered this place along with some celebrities,

and it’s a perfect place to escape.

Best way to get there:  Boat! There is a road which is accessible, but it’s not as easy, fast or beautiful as the boat ride from Puerta Vallarta.  We recommend heading straight to Yelapa, as it’s very touristy (unless you like that experience!) Once you get there, donkeys are the mode of transportation…there are no cars.

Adventurous Thing to Try: Paragliding is the thing to do here in Yelapa. People come from around the world just to enjoy this sport. So if you haven’t tried it before…this is the place!

Things to Do: Paragliding. Fishing. Swimming. Hiking. Try local moonshine.

Tips & Tricks: Yelapa is beautiful, but it’s not a 5 star luxury spot, but near “glamping” experience, which makes this an amazing, peaceful escape. Renting a home via Homeaway is the way to go. Bring flashlights as the electricity can be spotty. Keep your high heels at home.
